South Korean boy group SHINee finally met their Hong Kong fans again after 5 years on 20th May at the Asia World Expo Arena Hall 1. This year’s concert, SHINee Concert “SHINee World V” in Hong Kong, lasted at least 2 hours, much to the delight of Shawols.
The 5 members, Onew, Jong Hyun, Key, Minho and Taemin made their entrance with Hitchhiking and continued hyping the audience up with several songs including Married to the Music, Why So Serious, and Juliette. The special stage effects that came hand in hand with SHINee’s performance resonated well with the fans who were cheering endlessly.
Throughout the concert, SHINee appeared on stage with several outfits, well enhancing their existing good looks. Shawols showed their support by swaying to the music with the fandom’s official Pearl Aqua Green lightstick while the boys sang and danced to Lucifer, Ring Ding Dong, and Sherlock. Maknae Tae Min also performed his solo track titled Goodbye while members Onew and Jong Hyun serenaded the fans with Please, Don’t Go.
As the concert was held on 20th May, 520 in the Chinese language can also be pronounced to mean “I Love You”, SHINee had a special arrangement while singing to So Amazing; The 5 boys went around the venue in a mobile cart and got closer to fans. In addition, their 9th debut anniversary was just round the corner, and they included a segment during the performance to throw personally autographed balls to their fans.
After the Hong Kong leg of the concert tour, SHINee will be heading to Taiwan on 11th June and Bangkok on 24th June. Also under SM Entertainment, Girls Generation’s Taeyeon will be holding her concert tour as a solo singer on 10th and 11th June at the Asia World Expo.
