Six-member K-pop boy band B.A.P (which stands for Best, Absolute, Perfect), brought the house down with close to 300 screaming fans in their first performance for MTV Sessions held at Resorts World Sentosa’s state-of-the-art Waterfront Studio last night. Members Bang Yong Guk, Zelo, Him Chan, Dae Hyun, Young Jae, and Jong Up took to the MTV stage and wasted no time showing why they were deserving of the audience’s enthusiastic screams and cheers. Performing against a backdrop of flashy video effects and dozens of stage lights, the group pulled off an exclusive showcase of their songs in an up-close performance, consisting of “Excuse Me,” “Hurricane,” “Where Are You?” “Lovesick” and " 1004 (Angel),” which left fans almost hyperventilating.

In between tracks, the boys paused for conversation with MTV VJs Alan and Hanli to answer some questions sent in by fans. They even had a “chilli crabs” dance moment in response to what they love in Singapore, which sent their fans into shrieks of laughter. As fans lit up the studio with their green B.A.P. Matoki light sticks, the boys captivated the crowd with their solid vocals and fancy dance moves. For the close to 300 privileged fans, they left on a high, feeling satisfied, privileged and screaming for more.

MTV announced six-member boy band B.A.P (which stands for Best, Absolute, Perfect), will be the first K-pop act to be featured in its music series MTV Sessions. Known for their hip-hop influenced hits such as “One Shot,” “Warrior” and “Power,” B.A.P recently released their first full-length studio album, First Sensibility and fourth mini album B.A.P Unplugged 2014 in February and June respectively. Upon its release, First Sensibility topped Billboard’s weekly World Albums chart and ranked within the Top 10 spots of iTunes’ Hip-Hop Albums chart in nine countries.

MTV Sessions: B.A.P will be their second MTV performance after they held their first live recording in MTV's iconic Times Square studio for B.A.P Live in NYC in May last year. This will be B.A.P’s fourth visit to Singapore after they performed a concert in May as part of their B.A.P Live On Earth 2014 Continent Tour which saw them play 20 concerts in four continents Europe, Oceania, America and Asia.

“We are really thrilled to return to Singapore for MTV Sessions! Unlike the concerts we’ve held, this is going to be a different experience for us and the fans because it’s an intimate performance where everyone can see us up close and interact with us,” says Zelo.

MTV Sessions is recorded live in front of a 200-strong studio audience. It is a series of music shows that allow music lovers the rare opportunity to watch the latest and upcoming international and regional artists showcase their craft live in an intimate setting. Besides performing their own songs, the artists also perform covers and remixes of their favourite songs produced exclusively for MTV. Fans get to learn more about the work and life of these artists who will share their music and personal stories in MTV Sessions which follows a casual and revealing style. Artists that have been featured on the show previously include James Morrison, Greyson Chance, Russian Red, Ming Bridges, The Temper Trap and Guy Sebastian.

MTV Sessions is shot at Resort World Sentosa’s Waterfront Studio, a purpose-built TV studio located at the waterfront of the 49 hectare mega-resort. On January 26, 2012, B.A.P, consisting of Bang Yong Guk, Zelo, Him Chan, Dae Hyun, Young Jae, and Jong Up, debuted with their first single album ‘WARRIOR’ and held an unprecedented debut showcase at Jang-Chung Gymnasium in Korea filling the 3,000 seat venue to capacity on January 28, 2012.
