Lee Dong Wook’s fan meeting ‘For My Dear’ was held on 3rd May at Hong Kong Star Hall. The café-themed stage was an interesting sight and it was the actor’s way of wanting to create a cosy setting to share his own story and chat with the fans, similar as to what most people would do in a café.
Decked in a white suit, Lee Dong Wook began with the first session of the fan meeting, ‘My Moment’. He shared his un-released photos and those that were taken in Hong Kong. The actor also burst into laughter when a photo of himself and a journalist was flashed on screen as he thought it was extremely funny that both were pointing cameras at each other during an earlier interview. Besides that, he also shared the highlight photos of The Lonely and Great God, and the sweet actor congratulated Gong Yoo and Kim Eun-Sook on their Baeksang Arts Awards wins.
The next session is ‘My Story’ where Lee Dong Wook reviews his drama works with fans. When his old drama, ‘My girl’ came on screen, Lee Dong Wook said he felt embarrassed because the drama was filmed about 12 years ago and he could barely remember any details of the shooting. With The Lonely and Great God being the most popular drama now, the best scene that was chosen by fans during the fan meeting was no doubt his kiss scene with Sunny (role played by actress Yoo In Na)! “The scene was really not romantic when we were filming! The temperatures were cold and we wanted to end filming early,” revealed the actor. However, he expressed his love for the soundtrack of The Lonely and Great God and he felt that the songs played great parts in making the whole drama more romantic.
Following that, what would a fan meeting be without fan interaction sessions? Lucky fans were picked to go on stage to re-enact 5 significant scenes from The Lonely and Great God and one of the fans was a fan boy from Canada who came to catch a glimpse of the actor. They did a romantic scene together and drew much cheers and laughter from the audience. Apart from the photo session that the lucky fans had with Lee Dong Wook, the actor also went around the venue to hi-five with fans, showing his side of caring equally for all fans who made the effort to attend his fan meeting!
Lee Dong Wook sang a song to his fans to conclude the fan meeting and he expressed his thanks to the fans, hoping that he will be able to meet them in Hong Kong again soon.
