The popular South Korean actor, Lee Dong-Wook came to Hong Kong on 2nd May and held a public press conference at shopping mall APM. The 1-hour long press conference drew at least a crowd of 800 that came to support the actor who has made it big with this good looks and top notch acting skills in South Korea’s top-ranked drama, Goblin.
During the media conference, Lee Dong-Wook shared some facts about himself and also promoted his Asia Tour Fan Meeting, FOR MY DEAR, which as to be held the following day.
The 35-year-old started with Cantonese greetings to his fans and received a warm welcome. Lee Dong-Wook proceeded to share the meaning behind the name of his fan meeting; Dear is how he wants to call his fans and he wants to thank them for their support. He also hopes to share many moments with his fans and interact with them during the fan meeting.
“I feel that I have acted in too many romance and fantasy dramas,” said the actor, and Lee Dong-Wook wished to take on different roles in future. Apart from challenging political drams with roles that required professional knowledge, the actor also mentioned that he preferred to be acting in modern-day dramas as compared to ancient-day dramas.
Lee Dong-Wook has also participated in various variety shows such as Roommate and My Bodyguard. The actor has also been making special cameo appearances in Return of Superman to meet Lee Dong-Gook’s family where his three children, Seola, Sua and Daebak are casted. He still keeps in close contact with the family and the actor shares about his dream to be a host in his own talk show in future. With his hectic schedule and diverse work roles, Lee Dong-Wook expressed regretfully that he really wished to visit Hong Kong as a tourist. Back in Korea, having delicious food and watching TV are his ways of relaxing.
When talking about future plans, Lee Dong-Wook highlighted that he would be putting his focus on his work as an actor, and he will be acting in another new drama this year. Before the press conference came to a close, the actor also promoted Gong Yoo’s upcoming fan meeting next weekend.
